About The Coffee

Perched high in the Sierra Nevada, La Esperanza is Adiel Coronel’s life’s work — a third-generation farmer working the same land his father and grandfather did. That dedication shows in every sip. La Esperanza bursts with blueberry and dried fruit, melts into marzipan sweetness, and finishes with a gentle lift of cinnamon. Rich, balanced, and beautifully composed.

Adiel Coronel — Pueblo Bello Cesar
At the heart of Finca La Esperanza is Adiel Coronel, a third‑generation coffee farmer whose dedication to his crops is unmatched. From childhood, Adiel and his brothers were taught the craft of cultivating, harvesting, and processing coffee — skills passed down from their father and grandfather and refined through decades of hands-on experience. Every day, Adiel walks the steep slopes of his farm, ensuring that each plant receives the care and attention needed to produce exceptional coffee. Finca La Esperanza sits in Pueblo Bello, Cesar, along the dramatic mountainsides of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. This region is known for its striking elevations, cool climates, and rich biodiversity. The combination of fertile soils, steady rainfall, and slow-growing conditions naturally favours concentrated, expressive coffee development.
For Adiel, the farm is more than a place to grow coffee — it’s a living legacy of his family’s knowledge, care, and connection to the land. Each harvest reflects decades of experience, tradition, and a deep understanding of the Sierra Nevada’s unique environment. This devotion is evident in every cup, making La Esperanza a true representation of the potential and richness of northern Colombian specialty coffee.

Pueblo Bello, Cesar
Pueblo Bello sits on the northern flank of Colombia’s Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, one of the world’s highest coastal mountain ranges. The area benefits from cool, high‑elevation microclimates, mineral‑rich soils, and steady mountain breezes that create ideal conditions for slow, concentrated cherry development. Its proximity to the Sierra’s cloud forests provides abundant fresh water and natural shade, supporting a diverse ecosystem that translates into layered, fruit‑forward cup profiles.
Though Cesar is less widely known than Colombia’s major coffee departments, Pueblo Bello has become a standout pocket of quality—defined by smallholder farms, clean natural processing, and coffees with deep sweetness and pronounced dried‑fruit character. It’s a region where altitude, biodiversity, and careful cultivation come together to produce distinctive, expressive lots like those from Finca La Esperanza.
