Hermanos x Oatly: The Story Behind Our First-Ever Signature Drinks

Published On: March 27, 2026

Two signature drinks, one standout coffee – exploring how far Colombian specialty can go without losing what makes it special.

Colombian specialty coffee speaks for itself. It’s vibrant, expressive, and full of flavours you won’t find anywhere else – notes like pink bubble gum, naturally developed through innovative processing and a deep understanding of the craft.

In coffee, it can sometimes feel like you have to choose between purity and play – between a V60 and something topped with cold foam. But why should you have to? At Hermanos, we’ve always believed in doing both: celebrating the boldness of Colombian specialty coffee while creating a space that feels open and welcoming to every kind of coffee drinker.

That same thinking led us to our first-ever signature drinks. At first, we hesitated. We’re proud of coffees that can stand entirely on their own – clean, complex, and full of character. But then we asked ourselves: what if a signature drink could enhance those natural notes, open the door to more people, and still pay homage to Colombia in every sip?

Like everything we do, the answer had to stay true to our roots. From our shop interiors to the language we use, Colombia runs through Hermanos. So when we set out to create these drinks, the brief was clear: Colombian, specialty, and stripped back.

Working with Oatly felt like a natural fit. Their approach is just as bold and considered, and together we focused on getting the balance right – enhancing and not overpowering.

Choosing the coffee was simple. It had to be Don Daniel. With its notes of rose water, pomegranate, honey, and white peach, it offered a bright, elegant base that felt perfect for spring.

When it came to developing the drinks, we thought we’d land on just one. But during the final tasting, that quickly changed. Presented with three options, two stood out immediately – and we couldn’t choose between them.

La Rosa and La Panela Cloud were completely different, yet equally compelling. One leaned into the floral, aromatic side of the coffee, bringing out its delicate rose notes. The other offered a balance of creamy sweetness and citrus lift, inspired by the familiar flavours of panela.

In the end, it didn’t make sense to pick just one. Both drinks showcased something unique about the same coffee – two distinct expressions of Don Daniel, each worth experiencing.

You can now try them at Hermanos Portobello Road from 2–30 April.
