Why We're Franchising Hermanos – And How You Can Get Involved

Published On: June 05, 2026

The next chapter for Hermanos has begun.

When we opened our first coffee shop, the goal wasn't to build a franchise network. It was much simpler than that: share incredible Colombian specialty coffee, tell the stories behind it, and create welcoming spaces where people could connect over a great cup.

Since then, Hermanos has grown through a combination of curiosity, hard work, and a community of customers who have supported us every step of the way. As more people discover specialty coffee and as demand for Hermanos continues to grow, we've spent a lot of time thinking about how we can bring what we do to more neighbourhoods without losing what makes it special.

For us, franchising feels like the right next step.

More Communities, More Great Coffee

At its core, franchising allows us to do one thing: introduce more people to great Colombian specialty coffee.

We've seen first-hand how a good coffee shop can become part of a community's daily routine. It's where people start their mornings, meet friends, take a break from work, or discover a coffee they never knew existed.

There are so many places we'd love to bring Hermanos to, but opening every location ourselves would naturally limit how quickly we can do that.

By partnering with operators who know and care about their communities, we can grow in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

Growing Carefully

Franchising often gets associated with rapid expansion. That's not our approach.

We're interested in building long-term partnerships with people who genuinely care about hospitality, quality, and creating great customer experiences.

Every Hermanos shop should feel like a Hermanos shop. That means taking the time to train teams properly, supporting partners throughout their journey, and making sure standards remain high as we grow.

We're not looking to open as many locations as possible. We're looking to open the right locations with the right people.

Why Our Model Works

One of the things that makes Hermanos unique is that we're vertically integrated.

We source coffee directly from producers in Colombia, roast it ourselves, and serve it across our cafés and online store. Because we're involved at every stage, we can maintain quality, consistency, and strong relationships throughout the supply chain.

For franchise partners, this means they aren't starting from scratch. They gain access to an established coffee programme, operational systems that have been refined over years, and a team that understands both coffee and hospitality.

Most importantly, they get to focus on running a great coffee shop while we help support everything behind the scenes.

Building on What Already Exists

People often assume franchising is about replicating a business model. For us, it's about sharing something that's already working.

Customers already know Hermanos for approachable specialty coffee, knowledgeable teams, and a genuine connection to Colombian coffee culture. With our multiple awards in recent years, including Best Independent Coffee Shop and two-time winner of Best Multiple Coffee Shop Operator (10–50 Stores), we're excited to build on that momentum and introduce more communities to specialty Colombian coffee.

The goal isn't to become the biggest coffee chain. It's to create more places where people can enjoy exceptional coffee and feel part of a community.

The Next Chapter

Coffee has always been about connection.

Connection between producers and drinkers. Between coffee shops and neighbourhoods. Between people sharing a moment over a cup.

Franchising is simply the next way we can build those connections.

By working with passionate local partners, we can bring more great coffee to more communities, support more entrepreneurs, and continue sharing the coffees and stories that inspired Hermanos in the first place.

We're excited about what's ahead — and we're committed to growing in a way that stays true to who we are.
