ORIGIN

The namesake for this coffee comes from a farm located in Cutiri, Santander, run by Felix Torres and his charming family. In recent years, Felix has focused on improving their coffee quality by developing each area of production, from growing the coffee beans to selecting optimum drying processes. The end result is impeccable, especially considering the family’s limited financial resources.

When we first visited Felix’s farm in April 2022, we were seriously impressed by the concerted effort and enthusiasm that the Torres family puts into the coffee growing, harvesting, and production processes. During this visit, we were able to meet the entire Torres family, including their grandmother, (who we have named another coffee after — check out our Maria Torres beans!) and experience true Colombian hospitality.

In conversations with Felix, we came to understand the hopes and ambitions that he and his family have for their coffee. He described his dream of seeing his coffee being sold directly to international coffee roasters at a fair price and getting the recognition that he and his family deserve for their hard work — an objective that we at Hermanos feel privileged to support.
