OUR THOUGHTS
Smooth and creamy with distinct notes of berries, honey and red apple, as well as an overall fruity aroma. A good choice for pairings with dark chocolate and rich desserts.
ORIGIN
We get these beans from a collection of smallholding coffee farmers in Belen, Inzá, located in the corner of Cauca, and bordering Tolima and Huila. Situated on the “Macizo Colombiano” (the Colombian Plateau) these farms are surrounded by high peaks and a view out towards the Pacific Ocean.
Every micro-lot within this group adheres to some of the highest community cupping standards we’ve seen, each scoring 85 points or above. This results in a very limited quantity of this exceptional coffee available for export, which we’re lucky enough to get our hands-on.
The group is also part of a wider initiative among producers in the area to achieve organic coffee certifications for its cropt, with Belen coffee being one of the first to have achieved this standard.
